String Nut Materials
Most Maryland-made and SE models utilize a proprietary synthetic nut material which incorporates bronze powder. This nut material provides an amazing balance of tone, durability, and tuning stability, while also self-lubricating.
Many of our vintage-inspired models feature a bone nut, a tried-and-true material known for its rich tonal characteristics. These bone nuts are sourced from Vietnam and utilize cow bone.
Replacement String Nuts
Though precut PRS string nuts are available for sale through our accessories store and authorized PRS dealers, you may still need to make minor adjustments to the slots with nut files to ensure the best setup on your guitar.
